Landmark Cinemas is Canada's second-largest movie theatre chain, with roughly 21 locations behind Cineplex, the market leader. I went through Landmark's full concession menu, popcorn, drinks, hot food, candy, even the licensed bar, and verified every price below before publishing it.

Cineplex isn't in this guide. I don't have Cineplex concession prices I've verified myself, and Froqel doesn't publish numbers it can't stand behind just to fill out a page. When Cineplex pricing is verified, it gets its own page.

What follows is the complete Landmark price list by category, then the arithmetic: whether the $30.99 Refillable Bucket actually pays for itself against a free loyalty membership, why the medium popcorn is the one size to skip, which combos are worth buying, and what a real two-person order costs before you find your seats.

Selected locations pour beer, wine, and cocktails. Two wines on Landmark's list carry two prices together; following standard wine list format, I've read the lower number as a glass pour and the higher as a bottle.

Salads and wraps

The cheapest snack that isn't a top-up is coleslaw at $3.79. The priciest single item is a $44.00 bottle of Pinot Noir; among food, the $38.99 Movie Lover Combo, built for two, tops the list.

The refillable bucket break-even

The Refillable Bucket costs $30.99, more than four times what Landmark charges for a small popcorn and roughly three and a half times a large. The question worth answering is how many trips back to the counter it takes before that upfront cost actually pays off.

Compared against a large popcorn at $8.99, the math is straightforward. Three separate larges cost $26.97, still $4.02 cheaper than the bucket. Four separate larges cost $35.96, which is $4.97 more than the bucket. The bucket wins on the fourth refill, not the third.

Swap in the XL at $9.99 and the whole-visit answer doesn't move: you still need four refills. But the margin tightens considerably. Three XLs cost $29.97, only $1.02 short of the bucket's price. By the fourth XL, at $39.96, the bucket is ahead by $8.97. An XL drinker is nearly at break-even by visit three; a large drinker still has real ground to make up.

Visit frequency changes how soon that fourth-visit break-even arrives, not whether it arrives at all. A weekly moviegoer hits their fourth trip within a month of buying the bucket, and the remaining 48 visits that year become effectively free popcorn, assuming refills stay free. A monthly moviegoer takes four months to reach the same break-even and only gets eight more free-popcorn visits that year after that. The bucket rewards frequency far more than it rewards any single trip.

That entire calculation assumes every refill after the first purchase is free. Landmark's pricing lists the Refillable Bucket at $30.99 but doesn't spell out what a return-visit refill costs, if anything. I'm giving the bucket its best possible case here: free refills, indefinitely. Even then, it takes four visits.

Here's the uncomfortable part for the bucket's case. Landmark's Movie Fan program costs nothing to join and includes a free refill on a large popcorn and a large fountain drink. That means anyone, with zero upfront spend, can buy one large popcorn for $8.99 and refill it free if they're still hungry during that same film. For a solo moviegoer who just wants seconds during one sitting, the free membership already delivers what the bucket seems to promise, at roughly a quarter of the bucket's price.

So who is the $30.99 bucket actually for? Not, on this math, the solo regular chasing a mid-movie top-up, since a free Movie Fan signup already covers that. The stronger case is a group sharing one container instead of several people each buying a large, or a moviegoer who returns often enough to make repeated future refills worthwhile, assuming Landmark lets you refill the bucket cheaply on a different visit, which isn't confirmed in the pricing I checked. Absent that confirmation, my honest read is this: skip the bucket if you go alone and occasionally, and join Movie Fan instead. Consider the bucket if you're buying for four people or more in one sitting, since four large popcorns already cost $35.96 before anyone's asked for a top-up.

Popcorn sizes and the medium to large gap

Plain popcorn comes in four sizes at Landmark: small at $6.79, medium at $8.79, large at $8.99, and XL at $9.99. The jump from small to medium is $2.00, the biggest single step on the size ladder. The jump from large to XL is $1.00. The jump from medium to large is $0.20.

Twenty cents. That's the entire premium for a full size step up, from medium to large. Unless you specifically want the smaller portion, there's no reason to order a medium at Landmark: for twenty cents more, you get the next size up. I'd skip the medium every time.

The flavoured corn doesn't follow the same pattern, partly because it isn't sold in the same sizes. Kettle corn, caramel corn, and cheddar popcorn each come in only small and large, skipping medium and XL. Cheddar popcorn's small to large jump is $1.00, from $10.49 to $11.49. Caramel corn's is $1.70, from $8.79 to $10.49. Kettle corn's is the steepest, $2.00, from $8.49 to $10.49, tying plain popcorn's small to medium jump as the biggest size-step gap on the whole popcorn list.

What a two-person snack order actually costs

A realistic order: two people, one shared popcorn, a drink each, one candy to split. A large popcorn is $8.99. Two large fountain pops are $4.79 each, $9.58 total, and that's the same price as two mediums would be, Landmark charges the same for a medium and a large fountain pop, so there's no reason to order the smaller one. A box of Skittles to split is $4.99. That comes to $23.56 before tax.

Add Ontario's 13% HST and the same order runs $26.62. In Alberta, where only the 5% GST applies, it's $24.74.

Skip the sharing, two mediums instead of one shared large, and the same order becomes $32.15 before tax: $17.58 for two mediums instead of $8.99 for one large, plus the same drinks and candy. That's $8.59 more for two people who could have just split one popcorn.

Combos and add-ons

I checked every fully specified combo on Landmark's menu against the cost of buying its components separately. Four beat buying separately by a real margin. Two cost more than the parts.

The best deal on the menu is the cheddar popcorn, fountain pop, and onion rings combo, saving $6.48 over its parts. The worst is the cheddar popcorn, bottled water, and Smarties combo, which costs $2.02 more than buying the three items apart. Oddly, cheddar popcorn shows up in both the best and the worst combo on the list, so flavour isn't a reliable guide to value. Check the specific combo against its parts before assuming the bundle wins.

The two-item Large Popcorn and Large Drink Combo ($16.99) doesn't specify which drink is included, so I checked both ends of Landmark's large-drink range. Paired with the cheapest option, a fountain pop at $4.79, the parts cost $13.78, a $3.21 gap in the parts' favour. Paired with the priciest, an ICEE or slush at $6.99, the parts cost $15.98, still $1.01 cheaper than the combo. However you read "large drink," skip this one and order separately.

The Kids Combo, Family Combo, and Movie Lover Combo bundle drink and candy items that Landmark doesn't price individually elsewhere on the menu, so there's no clean parts comparison to run on those three.

Flavour shakers and other add-ons

Landmark's popcorn add-ons run $0.79 to $1.99. Cheese powder is the cheapest; the ranch shaker and extra butter shot are the priciest, at $1.99 each. Weighed against a size upgrade instead of on their own, most of them are a poor trade. A small popcorn with the $1.99 ranch shaker or extra butter shot comes to $8.78, a cent under a plain medium and $0.21 under a plain large, for the same popcorn you started with. The $1.79 cheese shaker or caramel drizzle brings a small to $8.58, $0.21 under a medium and $0.41 under a large. Only the $0.79 cheese powder keeps a flavoured small meaningfully cheaper than just stepping up a size, at $7.58.
