Quick facts

The cheapest item on the menu is the Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie at $2.19. The most expensive is the 30 Piece Party Pack at $101.69. A Big Mary sandwich alone is $8.89, or $12.89 as a combo with taters or fries and a drink. Across every bucket size on the menu, the lowest cost per piece is $2.64, on the 30 Pieces Chicken Only order.

A note on where these numbers come from

These are published reference prices pulled together from Mary Brown's ordering platforms, not a verified till receipt from any one location. Mary Brown's does not publish one national price list, and its own site sends customers to a location-specific ordering page to see what their store actually charges. Prices move by province, by restaurant, by which app or website you order through, and by whatever promotion is running that week. Treat every figure below as a starting point, not a guarantee, and expect the number to run higher if you order through a delivery app.

Mary Brown's is a Canadian chain that started in Newfoundland, unlike most of the chicken chains it competes against.

Buckets and feasts: where the per-piece price actually stops falling

This is a chicken chain, so the feast and bucket sizes are the real anchor purchase, and nobody at the counter is doing this division in their head. I did it for every bucket on the menu.

9 Pieces Chicken Only$32.799$3.64
13 Pieces Chicken Only$48.1913$3.71
30 Pieces Chicken Only$79.0930$2.64

Three things stand out once the division is done.

First, in the everyday Chicken & Taters line, the per-piece price falls fast: $5.00 at two pieces, $4.10 at three, $3.47 at four. The four-piece order is the strongest small-format value on the menu.

Second, the Piece Meal always costs exactly $3.40 more than the matching Chicken & Taters order, at every size: $13.39 versus $9.99, $15.69 versus $12.29, $17.29 versus $13.89. That flat $3.40 is the price of a salad and a drink, and it holds steady whether you order two pieces or four.

Third, and this is the number that matters if you're feeding a family, the feast line hits its floor early. Per-piece cost drops from $4.52 at nine pieces to $4.09 at thirteen, then barely moves to $4.08 at eighteen. Going from the 13 Piece Feast to the 18 Piece Feast buys five more pieces of chicken for a saving of about one cent per piece. If you need nine to thirteen pieces, order the 13 Piece Feast. If you need more than that, the extra five pieces on the 18 Piece Feast cost almost exactly what they cost on the 13 Piece Feast, no bonus discount for going bigger.

The bare Chicken Only line, no sides, no drink, has a genuine oddity in it. Nine pieces of chicken alone cost $3.64 per piece; thirteen pieces cost $3.71 per piece, which is more, not less. The per-piece price only breaks down meaningfully at the 30-piece order, where it falls to $2.64, the cheapest chicken on the entire menu. If you're buying chicken with no sides attached, the 13-piece size is the one to skip: you'd pay less per piece ordering the 9-piece twice than ordering the 13-piece once.

The Party Packs, at $3.67 a piece for 27 and $3.39 a piece for 30, undercut every feast on chicken alone. The source doesn't confirm whether a Party Pack carries the same salad and drink allowance as a feast of comparable size, so I'm not calling it a straight swap. If all you want is chicken, it's the better number; if you want the full meal a feast includes, compare the total price instead.

Taters, priced against fries

Small Taters are $3.39, Medium $7.19, Large $10.59. Those are the same three numbers as Small, Medium and Large Fries. Mary Brown's signature side carries no price premium over a plain fry at any size.

The size steps aren't even: Small to Medium adds $3.80, Medium to Large adds only $3.40. I couldn't confirm the weight behind each tier, so I can't turn that into a per-ounce number, but the bigger jump happens on the first upgrade, not the second.

Poutine follows the same pattern as the plain sides: a Small Tater Poutine and a Small Fry Poutine are both $7.69, and the regular Tater Poutine and Fry Poutine are both listed at approximately $9.79. Whichever potato format you prefer, poutine costs the same either way.

Sandwiches and tenders against chicken by the piece

A Big Mary Sandwich alone is $8.89, more than a single a la carte Centre Breast at $6.79, the largest individual piece on the menu. You're paying roughly $2.10 extra for the bun, breading style and toppings that come with the sandwich format.

Chicken Tenders are the better per-piece deal a la carte. Three Pieces Chicken Tenders cost $9.09, which works out to $3.03 per tender, cheaper than a single Wing or Drumstick at $3.59 each, and well under the Thigh or Side Breast at $5.39. Tenders at $3.03 a piece land between the cheapest bucket on the menu, the 30 Pieces Chicken Only at $2.64 a piece, and every other bucket size above it.

Wings show the same pattern, sharper. A single a la carte Wing is $3.59. The 6 Wings order is $9.99, or $1.665 per wing, less than half the a la carte price. Buy the six-pack; buying one wing at a time is close to the most expensive way to eat at Mary Brown's.

Item prices

How much does the cheapest item at Mary Brown's cost?

The cheapest item on the menu is $2.19, for a single Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie. Two pies cost $3.99, a saving of $0.39 over buying two separately at $4.38.

How much does a Big Mary cost?

A Big Mary Sandwich costs $8.89 on its own. As the Big Mary Combo, with a small order of taters or fries and a drink, it's $12.89. The Spicy Big Mary is the same price as the original, $8.89, and the Buffalo Mary Sandwich runs $0.50 higher at $9.39.

How much does a Mary Brown's bucket cost?

Bucket-style orders range from $32.79 for 9 Pieces Chicken Only up to $101.69 for the 30 Piece Party Pack. If you want chicken with sides, feasts run from $40.69 for the 9 Piece Feast to $73.49 for the 18 Piece Feast. The cheapest cost per piece on any bucket is $2.64, on the 30 Pieces Chicken Only order.

The cheapest full meal you can build

The cheapest combo on the menu is the Big Mary Combo at $12.89, but it isn't the cheapest way to leave the counter with a sandwich, a side and a drink. Order a Sidekick Sandwich Original at $4.59, a Small Taters at $3.39 and an Aquafina Water at $2.49, and the total comes to $10.47, which is $2.42 less than the official combo. Call it the build-your-own meal: the same three components, none of the combo pricing.

Kids' meals against the adult menu

Mary Brown's kids' meals sit between $6.79 and $7.69, and in a couple of cases they beat the equivalent adult order on price. The Kids' 2 Tenders Meal is $7.69 and includes a side and a drink. Two adult tenders alone, at the same per-tender rate as the $9.09 three-piece order, would run about $6.06, so the kids' meal adds a side and a drink for roughly $1.63, a better add-on rate than most of the adult combos here.

The Kids' Drumstick Meal is $7.69, against $3.59 for a single a la carte Drumstick with nothing else. The Kids' Pop-Ins Meal is $7.69, against $4.89 for Kids' Pop-Ins without the meal. The Kids' Sidekick Sandwich Meal, at $6.79, is the cheapest kids' meal on the list and the cheapest full meal on the entire menu, adult or kids'.

Frequently asked questions

The cheapest item is the Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie at $2.19. For a full meal, the cheapest is the Kids' Sidekick Sandwich Meal at $6.79, and the cheapest adult meal I could build from listed prices is $10.47, for a Sidekick Sandwich, Small Taters and a water.

A Big Mary Sandwich is $8.89 on its own, or $12.89 as a combo with a small side and a drink. The Spicy Big Mary matches the original at $8.89, while the Buffalo Mary Sandwich costs $9.39.

How much does a Mary Brown's bucket of chicken cost?

Bucket and feast prices run from $32.79 for 9 Pieces Chicken Only to $101.69 for the 30 Piece Party Pack. The best cost per piece, $2.64, is on the 30 Pieces Chicken Only order, and among feasts that include sides, the 13 Piece Feast at $53.19 is where the per-piece price stops falling in any meaningful way.

How much are Mary Brown's taters?

A Small order of Taters is $3.39, Medium is $7.19 and Large is $10.59. Those are the same prices Mary Brown's charges for Fries at every size, so there's no premium for ordering the signature potato.

Building your own from a la carte prices beats every listed combo: a Sidekick Sandwich Original, a Small Taters and an Aquafina Water total $10.47. That's $2.42 less than the Big Mary Combo, the cheapest official combo on the menu at $12.89.

How much is a Mary Brown's kids' meal?

Kids' meals range from $6.79 for the Kids' Sidekick Sandwich Meal to $7.69 for the Kids' 2 Tenders, Drumstick or Pop-Ins Meals. Several of these beat the per-item cost of ordering the equivalent adult item without a meal attached.

Are Mary Brown's prices the same across Canada?

No. Mary Brown's doesn't publish one national price list, and prices move by province, by individual restaurant, and by which ordering platform you use. The figures on this page are reference prices gathered from published sources, not a verified in-store total, and ordering through a delivery app will typically push the number higher than paying at the counter.

Methodology

The prices on this page come from a single reference file compiled from Mary Brown's ordering platforms and are labelled by that source as published reference prices, not confirmed till receipts from any one location. Mary Brown's does not publish one national price list; its own website routes customers to a location-specific ordering page for the current price at their store. Everything here can move with the province, the specific restaurant, the app or website you order through, active promotions, sales tax and any delivery fee. Where the source gave an approximate figure, I've marked it "approx." Where a price wasn't consistently listed, I've marked it n/a rather than guess at a number. All per-piece and combined totals shown in this page's tables are arithmetic I did myself on the listed prices, not figures pulled directly from the source.
