The other five items are messier, and worth being honest about. The wings and the Whisky Bacon BBQ Burger sit between the official price and the Uber Eats price, closer to delivery than to the till: the wings run 13.7% above Kelsey's own price, the burger 14.6% above. Why the same menu shows different prices in different places

Three things stack on top of each other to produce the gap this page opened with.

First, Kelsey's doesn't set one national price and stop there. The burger example above shows real, location-by-location variation, and Kelsey's own website makes you choose a restaurant before it shows a single price, which only makes sense if the company expects that number to move.

Second, delivery platforms price separately from the restaurant. Uber Eats doesn't relay Kelsey's menu as is, it lists its own prices, and in this comparison, those prices ran close to 20% above Kelsey's official Markham figures on five separate items. Delivery platforms typically charge participating restaurants a commission on every order, and a higher listed price is one of the ways that cost gets covered.
