Independent of Swiss Chalet. Froqel is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Swiss Chalet, and no price on this page was supplied by it. The name and mark above identify the chain whose prices this page records, and remain its owner's trademarks.

Swiss Chalet has been roasting chicken since 1954, when it opened in Toronto, Ontario, and it now runs more than 200 locations across Canada under Recipe Unlimited Corporation, formerly Cara Operations.
I built this page from a single verified snapshot of Swiss Chalet's takeout and delivery pricing, organized by the same categories the chain uses on its own menu. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD), and none of them include tax, since Canadian restaurants price food before tax by default.
Swiss Chalet menu prices at a glance
| Quick fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Cheapest standalone dish | Chalet Chicken Soup, a pie slice, or a cake slice, all $3.99 |
| Cheapest thing on the menu overall | An extra Chalet Dipping Sauce, $0.49 |
| Most expensive item | Chicken & Ribs Family Pak, $34.99 takeout, $38.19 delivery |
| Quarter Chicken Dinner | $7.99 takeout, $9.39 delivery |
| Average main, takeout pricing | $11.79 across the twelve individually priced dinners, ribs, combos, and salads |
Swiss Chalet won't show you a single price until you select a location on its ordering site, and that's the reason two menu-price sites can list different numbers for the same item. What follows is one consistent set of prices, dated and labelled by order type, so you know exactly what you're comparing.
Swiss Chalet menu prices by category
Swiss Chalet organizes its menu into ten categories, from appetizers to add-ons. Here's every price in each one, takeout first and delivery beside it wherever the chain prices them differently.
Appetizers
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Cheese Perogies | $5.49 |
| Chicken Spring Rolls | $5.49 |
| Chalet Chicken Wings, 8 pieces | $8.99 |
| Chalet Chicken Wings, 16 pieces | $15.99 |
| Seasoned Dry Ribs | $5.99 |
Wings scale almost exactly: 16 pieces cost $15.99 against $8.99 for 8, so ordering the bigger size saves you $1.99 over two separate 8-piece orders.
Starter soups and salads
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Chalet Chicken Soup | $3.99 |
| Garden Salad | $4.29 |
| Caesar Salad or Greek Salad | $4.79 |
The soup undercuts both salads: $0.30 less than the Garden Salad and $0.80 less than the Caesar or Greek Salad, and it's the only starter built from the same rotisserie chicken as the dinners.
Famous rotisserie chicken dinners
Every dinner comes with a dinner roll, the signature Chalet dipping sauce, and a choice of side. Upgrading to white meat chicken adds $1.40 to any of the three; that's a separate charge from the free choice between a white or multigrain roll.
| Item | Takeout | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Quarter Chicken Dinner | $7.99 | $9.39 |
| Double Leg Dinner | $9.99 | $11.39 |
| Half Chicken Dinner | $11.39 | $12.79 |
Family meals
| Item | Takeout | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Family Pak | $24.99 | $28.19 |
| Chicken & Ribs Family Pak | $34.99 | $38.19 |
Both feed about four people: a whole rotisserie chicken, four rolls, Chalet sauce, and four side orders. The Chicken & Ribs version adds a half rack of ribs for $10.00 more than the plain Family Pak, and I do the math on whether that's worth it further down this page.
Smoky BBQ ribs and combos
Same inclusions as the dinners: a roll, Chalet sauce, and a side. White meat upgrade on the combos is also $1.40.
| Item | Takeout | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| 1/3 Rack BBQ Ribs | $12.49 | $13.89 |
| Half Rack BBQ Ribs | $16.49 | $17.89 |
| Quarter Chicken & 1/3 Rack Combo | $15.49 | $16.89 |
| Quarter Chicken & Half Rack Combo | $18.99 | $20.39 |
Fish and chips
| Item | Takeout | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Fish & Chips | $11.99 | $13.39 |
Two battered haddock fillets with fries or another side, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. It costs $0.60 more than the Half Chicken Dinner and $4.50 less than the Half Rack BBQ Ribs, if you're weighing it against the chicken and rib options above.
Entrée salads
| Item | Takeout | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Spinach Chicken Salad | $9.99 | $11.39 |
| Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad | $9.99 | $11.39 |
Both entrée salads are priced identically, and they cost exactly the same as the Double Leg Dinner, takeout and delivery both.
Sandwiches and wraps
Served with a choice of side.
| Item | Takeout | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Rotisserie Chicken Club Wrap | $8.69 | $10.09 |
| Chicken on a Kaiser | $7.99 | $9.39 |
Chicken on a Kaiser matches the Quarter Chicken Dinner exactly, $7.99 takeout and $9.39 delivery, even though the dinner gives you a side and a full roll instead of just a sandwich.
Desserts
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Pie by the Slice, apple, pecan, lemon meringue, or coconut cream | $3.99 |
| Cake by the Slice, vanilla cheesecake, carrot cake, or fudge cake | $3.99 |
Every dessert is the same price regardless of flavour, so the choice comes down to taste, not cost.
Sides, upgrades, and extras
Every dinner, combo, and sandwich comes with a choice of one standard side at no extra charge: fresh-cut fries, mashed potatoes, an oven-baked potato, a vegetable medley, seasoned rice, coleslaw, sweet kernel corn, or a side garden salad.
| Upgrade or extra | Price |
|---|---|
| Side Caesar or Greek Salad | +$0.50 |
| Poutine | +$1.99 |
| Extra Chalet Dipping Sauce | $0.49 |
| White Meat Upgrade | +$1.40 |
The extra dipping sauce, at 49 cents, is the cheapest thing you can add to any order on this entire menu, upgrades included.
Delivery markup: counter price against app price
I checked every dual-priced item on this menu against its delivery price, and the pattern is almost perfectly consistent: delivery costs exactly $1.40 more than takeout on every single-serving item, no exceptions, from the $7.99 Quarter Chicken Dinner (delivery $9.39) to the $8.69 Rotisserie Chicken Club Wrap (delivery $10.09). That's the low end of the $1.40 to $1.60 range Swiss Chalet uses to price delivery above takeout.
The two Family Paks break that pattern. The Family Pak jumps from $24.99 to $28.19 on delivery, and the Chicken & Ribs Family Pak jumps from $34.99 to $38.19. Both gaps are $3.20, exactly double the $1.40 markup on a single item, and almost exactly double the top of the stated range too, since two times $1.60 is $3.20.
My read: Swiss Chalet prices delivery per portion of chicken in the order rather than per order, so a family-size pak that feeds about four people carries roughly double the markup of a single dinner. Swiss Chalet doesn't publish the formula, so treat that as an educated read of the numbers, not a confirmed rule.
| Order type comparison, regular menu | Typical delivery markup |
|---|---|
| Individual dinners, combos, ribs, salads, sandwiches | +$1.40 |
| Family Paks, serve about 4 | +$3.20 |
Takeout and pickup share the same price on this menu; delivery is the only order type that costs more. If you're comparing a receipt from the counter against a receipt from a delivery app and the total looks $1.40 to $3.20 higher per item before any service or delivery fee, that's Swiss Chalet's own pricing at work, not the app padding the bill.
What the flat $1.40 actually costs, by item
A flat surcharge and a flat percentage feel similar at the counter. They are not. Because the surcharge never changes but the food price does, the effective markup collapses as the order gets bigger — which means the cheapest thing on the menu is hit hardest.
| Item | Takeout | Delivery | Effective markup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quarter Chicken Dinner | $7.99 | $9.39 | +17.5% |
| Chicken on a Kaiser | $7.99 | $9.39 | +17.5% |
| Rotisserie Chicken Club Wrap | $8.69 | $10.09 | +16.1% |
| Double Leg Dinner | $9.99 | $11.39 | +14.0% |
| Spinach Chicken Salad | $9.99 | $11.39 | +14.0% |
| Half Chicken Dinner | $11.39 | $12.79 | +12.3% |
| Fish & Chips | $11.99 | $13.39 | +11.7% |
| 1/3 Rack BBQ Ribs | $12.49 | $13.89 | +11.2% |
| Quarter Chicken & 1/3 Rack Combo | $15.49 | $16.89 | +9.0% |
| Half Rack BBQ Ribs | $16.49 | $17.89 | +8.5% |
| Quarter Chicken & Half Rack Combo | $18.99 | $20.39 | +7.4% |
The same $1.40 costs 17.5% on the cheapest dinner and 7.4% on the priciest combo. A surcharge fixed in dollars is regressive by construction: the smaller the order, the larger the share of it the surcharge takes. That is the whole argument against having anything small delivered, here or anywhere.
Set against the other measured Canadian markup, the two models cross over. Kelsey's charges a flat 20.0% on Uber Eats, confirmed item by item. Swiss Chalet's $1.40 is the better deal on anything above about $7.00 and the worse deal below it — and every dual-priced item on this menu is above $7.00, so at Swiss Chalet the flat fee wins on everything the chain actually prices for delivery.
Ontario charges HST on the marked-up price, not on the takeout price, so a little of the markup comes back as tax: $0.18 on a single item's $1.40, and $0.42 on a Family Pak's $3.20. That is before any delivery fee, service fee or tip, all of which are taxed too.
One thing this page cannot tell you: Swiss Chalet sells delivery through its own channel at the published $1.40. Order the same food through SkipTheDishes, Uber Eats or DoorDash and the restaurant sets the in-app price there, which is not the price on this page and which I have not verified. The comparison across chains is in the delivery app markup guide.
Weekday deals sit outside that table, because they're priced separately from the regular menu. Swiss Chalet's published specials pages, current as of August 6, 2026, show the Monday Chicken and Rib deal pairing a Quarter Chicken Dinner with a third rack of BBQ back ribs, Chalet sauce, coleslaw, and a dinner roll for $19.99 dine-in or takeout, with delivery priced higher at $21.99, a $2.00 gap rather than the usual $1.40.
The Tuesday "2 Can Dine" deal bundles two Quarter Chicken Dinners for $19.99 with the purchase of two beverages, valid for dine-in, takeout, and pickup, but not available on delivery at all. Both deals are valid until October 31, 2026, per Swiss Chalet's posted terms. They're recurring weekday specials, not permanent menu prices, so confirm the current terms at your location if you're ordering after that date.
Regional price variance: what the same order costs across Canada
Two layers move a Swiss Chalet bill from one address to the next, and only one of them is published anywhere.
The menu price underneath. Swiss Chalet's own ordering site won't show a price until you pick a location, which is the company telling you the number moves. I couldn't find a documented gap between Ontario locations and the rest of the chain, so the tables on this page are the baseline whichever Ontario city you're ordering from, Toronto or Thunder Bay. What drives that layer everywhere in Canadian casual dining is rent and wages rather than tax: the only measured example on this site is at Kelsey's, a sister Recipe Unlimited chain, where one burger costs $20.99 in Ottawa and $23.99 in Niagara Falls — a 14.3% spread inside a single province, with no tax difference between the two restaurants at all.
The tax on top, which is fixed by statute and identical for every restaurant in a province. Every price here is pre-tax.
| Order, takeout price | Pre-tax | Ontario, 13% | 5% GST only | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Extra Chalet Dipping Sauce | $0.49 | $0.51 | $0.51 | $0.00 |
| Chalet Chicken Soup | $3.99 | $4.19 | $4.19 | $0.00 |
| Garden Salad | $4.29 | $4.85 | $4.50 | $0.35 |
| Quarter Chicken Dinner | $7.99 | $9.03 | $8.39 | $0.64 |
| Half Chicken Dinner | $11.39 | $12.87 | $11.96 | $0.91 |
| Family Pak | $24.99 | $28.24 | $26.24 | $2.00 |
| Chicken & Ribs Family Pak | $34.99 | $39.54 | $36.74 | $2.80 |
The third row is the one worth stopping on. Ontario rebates the 8% provincial portion of the HST on qualifying prepared food where the transaction total is $4.00 or less, so the $3.99 soup is taxed at 5% and the $4.29 Garden Salad at 13%. A thirty-cent gap on the menu becomes a sixty-six-cent gap at the till, and the soup is the cheaper choice by more than twice what the board says. Four things on this entire menu sit under that line — the soup, a pie slice, a cake slice and the extra dipping sauce — so at Swiss Chalet the rebate is a curiosity rather than a strategy. At Tim Hortons it covers roughly three quarters of the menu. The rule itself is worked through in the six-doughnut tax guide.
Delivery compounds the tax, because HST applies to the delivery price rather than the takeout price. A Quarter Chicken Dinner is $9.03 with tax at the counter in Ontario and $10.61 delivered, so the $1.40 surcharge actually costs $1.58 once the tax on it is counted.
Provinces outside the HST group tax restaurant food differently again, and I haven't verified their current treatment item by item, so the 5% column above is the floor rather than a claim about any particular province.
Value analysis: the best and worst dollars on this menu
Swiss Chalet publishes no calorie counts, so value here has to be measured in dollars against portions. The finding that comes out of doing that is unusual: every bundle on this menu beats buying its own parts, and no chain on this site is as consistent about it.
| Bundle | Bundle price | The same food bought separately | Saving | Saving (%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quarter Chicken & 1/3 Rack Combo | $15.49 | $20.48 | $4.99 | 24.4% |
| Quarter Chicken & Half Rack Combo | $18.99 | $24.48 | $5.49 | 22.4% |
| Family Pak, against four Quarter Chicken Dinners | $24.99 | $31.96 | $6.97 | 21.8% |
| Chicken & Ribs Family Pak, against a Family Pak plus a Half Rack | $34.99 | $41.48 | $6.49 | 15.6% |
At $24.99 for about four people the Family Pak works out to $6.25 a head, which is less than the cheapest single dinner on the menu and the lowest cost per person anywhere on this page. Almost every casual-dining chain prices a bundle at a small discount; a fifth to a quarter off is a different order of magnitude, and it is the strongest argument for ordering here in a group rather than alone.
Two more places the arithmetic runs in the customer's favour:
Ribs get cheaper as the rack gets bigger. Scale the $12.49 1/3 Rack up by half and a Half Rack should cost $18.73. It costs $16.49, which is $2.25 under the proportional price. Wings do the same thing: 8 pieces at $8.99 work out to $1.12 a wing, 16 pieces at $15.99 to $1.00 — 11.1% better, and $1.99 saved against two 8-piece orders.
And one place it does not:
Chicken on a Kaiser costs exactly what a Quarter Chicken Dinner costs, $7.99 takeout, $9.39 delivered, to the cent. Both come with a side. The dinner adds a dinner roll and the Chalet sauce on top of that, so at an identical price the sandwich is the thinner order of the two. The same is true one tier up: the two entrée salads at $9.99 are priced level with the Double Leg Dinner.
The cheapest item on the whole menu, at $0.49, is an extra Chalet dipping sauce — cheaper than the $0.50 side-salad upgrade, and the only thing here that stays under a dollar.
Five things worth ordering, by the numbers
1. Quarter Chicken Dinner, $7.99
At $7.99 takeout, this is the least expensive way into the meal Swiss Chalet is known for: rotisserie chicken and the Chalet dipping sauce, plus a roll and a side. It's priced identically to Chicken on a Kaiser, $7.99 takeout and $9.39 delivery, but the dinner gives you a side and a full roll for the same money instead of just a sandwich. If this is your first order here, it's the cheapest full version of that meal.
2. Chalet Chicken Soup, $3.99
The cheapest hot item on the menu that isn't a dessert: $0.30 less than the Garden Salad and $0.80 less than the Caesar or Greek Salad. It's made from the same daily rotisserie chicken as the dinners, so it's a low-cost way to try the base ingredient before you commit to a full dinner.
3. Half Rack BBQ Ribs, $16.49
Scaling the 1/3 Rack price of $12.49 up by half would put a Half Rack at roughly $18.74. It actually costs $16.49, about $2.25 less than that proportional price. Ordering the bigger rack gets you the better per-rib rate on this menu, and the bigger order along with it.
4. Chicken & Ribs Family Pak, $34.99
Buy the plain Family Pak for $24.99 and a Half Rack BBQ Ribs on the side for $16.49 and you'd pay $41.48 combined. The Chicken & Ribs Family Pak bundles both into one order for $34.99, a $6.49 saving over buying them separately. For a table that wants chicken and ribs both, this is the one combination on the menu where bundling actually beats ordering item by item.
5. Extra Chalet Dipping Sauce, $0.49
At 49 cents, this is the cheapest thing you can add to any order on the whole menu, cheaper than the $0.50 side salad upgrade. It's also more of the sauce that defines the brand, a savoury blend of herbs and chicken drippings that comes standard with every dinner. If you liked what came with your meal, a second portion costs less than a loonie.
Alternatives if you want to compare
Swiss Chalet's closest menu-for-menu competitor is probably St-Hubert, the Quebec rotisserie chicken chain that has served whole chickens and a signature sauce of its own since 1951 in Montreal. The two chains ended up under the same roof in 2016, when St-Hubert was bought by Cara Operations, the company that later renamed itself Recipe Unlimited and still owns Swiss Chalet today, so calling them rivals is a bit generous. A cleaner outside comparison is Mary Brown's Chicken, a fried chicken chain that started in Newfoundland in 1969 and has stayed Canadian-owned through its growth to locations across the country. For a broader casual dinner-out option that isn't chicken-specific, there's Boston Pizza, founded in Edmonton, Alberta in 1964 and still headquartered in British Columbia, which competes for the same family-meal occasion with a much wider menu.
Swiss Chalet's closer relatives are the other three Recipe Unlimited casual-dining chains: Harvey's burger and poutine menu, Montana's BBQ ribs and steaks, and Kelsey's menu pricing, each priced in full elsewhere on this site.
A printable PDF of this price list
Every price on this page is formatted to print cleanly: every category from appetizers through sides, both takeout and delivery figures where Swiss Chalet prices them separately, and the same August 6, 2026 verification date stamped at the top. Use your browser's print function, or "print to PDF" in the print dialog, directly from this page to save or print a single-page version in the same category order as above, with no photos or extra layout to page through.
I'm not linking to any file Swiss Chalet publishes itself, since I couldn't confirm one exists that stays current. I'd rather you print this page, verified and dated, than an official document I can't vouch for.
I keep this list updated when I re-check prices, so the printed version is only as current as the "last verified" date at the top. If you're printing it to keep, check that date before you shop.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the Quarter Chicken Dinner at Swiss Chalet?
The Quarter Chicken Dinner costs $7.99 for takeout and $9.39 for delivery, both before tax. It comes with a dinner roll, the Chalet dipping sauce, and a choice of side, and it's the cheapest way to get the full rotisserie chicken meal rather than just a sandwich.
What is the cheapest item on the Swiss Chalet menu?
The cheapest standalone dish is a three-way tie at $3.99: the Chalet Chicken Soup, a slice of pie, or a slice of cake. If you count add-ons, an extra Chalet Dipping Sauce at $0.49 is the cheapest thing you can put on an order at all.
What is the most expensive item on the Swiss Chalet menu?
The Chicken & Ribs Family Pak is the most expensive item at $34.99 for takeout and $38.19 for delivery. It feeds about four people with a whole rotisserie chicken, a half rack of BBQ ribs, four rolls, Chalet sauce, and four side orders.
How much more does delivery cost than takeout at Swiss Chalet?
Delivery costs $1.40 more than takeout on every individual dinner, combo, salad, and sandwich on the menu. The two Family Paks carry a bigger gap, $3.20, and the Monday Chicken and Rib deal adds $2.00 on delivery instead of the usual $1.40.
Does Swiss Chalet run weekday deals?
Yes. Monday brings a Chicken and Rib deal, a Quarter Chicken Dinner with a third rack of BBQ ribs, for $19.99 dine-in or takeout, and Tuesday brings the "2 Can Dine" deal, two Quarter Chicken Dinners for $19.99 with two beverages purchased. Both deals are valid until October 31, 2026, per Swiss Chalet's posted terms, so confirm current pricing at your location if you're ordering after that date.
Are Swiss Chalet menu prices different in Ontario?
The base prices on this page apply regardless of province, since I couldn't confirm a documented Ontario-specific price list separate from them. What is different in Ontario is the tax: HST runs 13% and applies on top of every price here, since Canadian restaurant menus are priced before tax.
Is there a Swiss Chalet menu with prices PDF?
Not an official one that I could confirm stays current, since Swiss Chalet only shows prices after you select a location on its own ordering site. This page is formatted to print or save as a PDF directly from your browser, dated the same way as the rest of this guide.
Why do Swiss Chalet prices vary between different websites?
Because Swiss Chalet's own site requires you to select a location before it displays any prices, and different sites capture that location-specific data at different times. This page uses one consistent snapshot, labelled by takeout or delivery, so the numbers stay comparable across the whole menu.
Methodology and disclaimer
Every price on this page comes from a single verified pricing snapshot of Swiss Chalet's takeout and delivery structure, organized by the same ten categories the chain uses on its own menu. "Average main" in the quick facts table is the mean of the twelve individually priced dinners, combos, ribs, fish and chips, entrée salads, and sandwiches, takeout pricing, and it excludes starters, desserts, and the two Family Paks, which serve multiple people and would skew a single-serving average. The Monday and Tuesday deal prices come from Swiss Chalet's published specials pages as of August 6, 2026, and carry a stated expiry of October 31, 2026, while the base menu prices in the tables above come from the takeout and delivery pricing snapshot. Prices can vary by location and change without notice; the date at the top of this page is the only guarantee of when these numbers were correct.
