Quick facts

  • The cheapest item on the menu is the 5-piece Nuggets at $4.59.
  • The cheapest full meal is $12.29, a tie between the Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal and the 8-count Nuggets Meal.
  • The most expensive single order is the 30-piece Nuggets Meal at $28.99.

Chick-fil-A Canada runs one menu from open to close, so everything below is available whenever the doors are open. The tables are grouped the way the source list groups them, and every figure is a Canadian dollar amount before tax.

Chicken sandwiches

Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich$7.19
Deluxe Sandwich, no cheese$7.69
Deluxe Sandwich, Monterey Jack or jalapeno cheese$8.19

Spicy Chicken Sandwich$7.49

Grilled Chicken Sandwich$8.29
Grilled Chicken Club, no cheese$9.99
Grilled Chicken Club, Monterey Jack or jalapeno cheese$10.49
Grilled Chicken Club, natural cheddar$10.49

The jump from a plain sandwich to any cheese option is a flat $0.50, whether it's the regular Deluxe, the Spicy Deluxe or the Grilled Chicken Club. Cheese costs the same fifty cents no matter which sandwich is underneath it, and no matter which of the three cheeses you pick.

Nuggets and strips

Nuggets and strips
ItemPrice
Nuggets, 5 pieces$4.59
Nuggets, 8 pieces$7.19
Nuggets, 12 pieces$9.99
Nuggets, 30 pieces$24.89
Grilled Nuggets, 5 pieces$4.85
Grilled Nuggets, 8 pieces$7.69
Grilled Nuggets, 12 pieces$11.19
Spicy Chick-n-Strips, 3 pieces$8.09
Spicy Chick-n-Strips, 4 pieces$9.99

The 5-piece nuggets at $4.59 are the cheapest food item on the whole menu by a wide margin. The next cheapest thing you can buy is a small sweet tea at $2.59, and that is a drink.

Nuggets by the piece: the real cost per nugget

Nuggets are the one item priced across four different counts, so it's worth working out what you're actually paying per piece rather than per box.

Nuggets by the piece: the real cost per nugget
CountPricePrice per piece
Nuggets, 5 pieces$4.59$0.92
Nuggets, 8 pieces$7.19$0.90
Nuggets, 12 pieces$9.99$0.83
Nuggets, 30 pieces$24.89$0.83
Grilled Nuggets, 5 pieces$4.85$0.97
Grilled Nuggets, 8 pieces$7.69$0.96
Grilled Nuggets, 12 pieces$11.19$0.93

Buying bigger pays off, but only up to a point. Moving from 5 pieces to 12 pieces of regular nuggets drops the per-piece cost from $0.92 to $0.83, and the 30-piece bucket doesn't fall any further than that, it holds flat at $0.83 a piece. Grilled nuggets cost more per piece at every matching count, by roughly $0.05 to $0.10 over the regular version, and this source lists no 30-piece grilled option, so the regular nuggets are the only way to get under $0.85 a piece.

From a la carte to meal: the combo step-up

Every entrée above can become a meal, which the source describes as the entrée plus a side, usually waffle fries, and a drink. I lined up each standalone price against its meal price to see how consistent that step-up actually is.

From a la carte to meal: the combo step-up
ItemEntrée aloneMeal priceStep-up
Chick-fil-A Sandwich$7.19$12.29$5.10
Deluxe Sandwich, no cheese$7.69$12.79 to $13.29$5.10 to $5.60
Spicy Chicken Sandwich$7.49$12.49$5.00
Spicy Deluxe, no cheese$7.99$12.99 to $13.49$5.00 to $5.50
Grilled Chicken Sandwich$8.29$13.29$5.00
Grilled Chicken Club, no cheese$9.99$14.95 to $15.59$4.96 to $5.60
Nuggets, 8 pieces$7.19$12.29$5.10
Nuggets, 12 pieces$9.99$14.99$5.00
Nuggets, 30 pieces$24.89$28.99$4.10
Grilled Nuggets, 8 pieces$7.69$12.69$5.00
Grilled Nuggets, 12 pieces$11.19$16.09$4.90
Chick-n-Strips, 3 pieces$8.09$13.09$5.00
Chick-n-Strips, 4 pieces$9.99$14.99$5.00

The step-up is remarkably consistent. Twelve of thirteen combos add somewhere between $4.90 and $5.60 for fries and a drink, and most of them land right on $5.00. The one clear outlier is the 30-piece nugget meal, where the step-up drops to $4.10. That's the largest order on the list, so the fries-and-drink premium shrinks as a share of the total, or the meal price was simply rounded down against a $24.89 base. Either way, if you're mentally budgeting a Chick-fil-A order in Canada, $5.00 is the number to add to any entrée price to guess the meal price, and you'll be within about fifty cents almost every time.

An entrée and a drink, priced out

Meals bundle in fries you might not want. Here's what it costs to just get an entrée with something to drink, using real prices from the beverage list.

An entrée and a drink, priced out
ComboEntréeDrinkTotal
Nuggets, 5 pieces and small sweet tea$4.59$2.59$7.18
Chick-fil-A Sandwich and small lemonade$7.19$3.09$10.28
Nuggets, 8 pieces and small Sunjoy$7.19$2.69$9.88
Spicy Chicken Sandwich and iced coffee$7.49$3.39$10.88
Grilled Chicken Sandwich and small unsweetened iced tea$8.29$2.69$10.98

Compare two of these against the meal versions from the table above. The Chick-fil-A Sandwich with a small lemonade runs $10.28. The full Sandwich Meal is $12.29, so fries and whatever drink size the meal includes cost $2.01 more than buying the sandwich and a small lemonade on their own. The 8-piece nuggets and a small Sunjoy come to $9.88 against a $12.29 Nuggets Meal, a $2.41 gap. If fries aren't the point of the visit, skipping the meal and pairing an entrée with a small drink saves you roughly two dollars either way.

The cheapest order on the menu

The cheapest thing you can buy at a Canadian Chick-fil-A is the 5-piece nugget order at $4.59 on its own, or $7.18 paired with a small sweet tea. Add fries and a drink through the meal system and the floor jumps to $12.29, tied between the Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal and the 8-count Nuggets Meal, the two cheapest full meals on the list.

Value analysis: the best and worst dollars on this menu

Chick-fil-A Canada publishes no calorie data, so value here is measured per piece and per step. Three findings come out of the prices.

Nuggets stop getting cheaper at twelve. The per-nugget table above shows the rate falling from $0.92 at five pieces to $0.83 at twelve, and then stopping dead: the 30-piece box matches $0.83 exactly and goes no lower. Buying 30 nuggets gets you more nuggets, not a better price. That is unusual — at most chains the largest pack is the cheapest per unit — and it means the 12-piece is the value size, not the bucket.

Grilled costs more per nugget at every count. Grilled nuggets run $0.05 to $0.10 dearer per piece than regular at all three matching sizes, and there is no 30-piece grilled option, so $0.93 is the floor on the grilled side against $0.83 on the regular one.

Cheese is the one flat price on the menu. Adding any of the three cheeses to any sandwich costs exactly $0.50 — same on the Deluxe, the Spicy Deluxe and the Grilled Chicken Club, and the same whether you take Monterey Jack, jalapeno or natural cheddar. Compare that with Harvey's, which charges $0.40 for cheese on a junior burger and $0.80 on a full-size one, for the same slice.

The worst dollar on the menu is the meal upgrade on a cheap order. As the step-up table shows, fries and a drink cost about $5.00 on almost everything — but an entrée with a small drink and no fries runs about $2.00 less than the meal, so the fries are effectively a two-dollar side you did not choose.

Regional price variance: what the same order costs across Canada

Every price on this page is pre-tax. Two layers move the final number, and only one of them is published.

The tax layer, fixed by statute and identical for every restaurant in a province:

Regional price variance: what the same order costs across Canada
OrderPre-taxOntario5% GST onlyGap
Nuggets, 5 pieces, cheapest item$4.59$5.19$4.82$0.37
Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich$7.19$8.12$7.55$0.58
Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal, cheapest meal$12.29$13.89$12.90$0.98
Nuggets, 30 pieces$24.89$28.13$26.13$1.99
30-piece Nuggets Meal, dearest order$28.99$32.76$30.44$2.32

Chick-fil-A is one of three chains on this site where Ontario's small-order tax break never applies to anything. Ontario rebates the 8% provincial portion of the HST on qualifying prepared food and beverages where the transaction total is $4.00 or less, so cheap orders elsewhere pay 5% instead of 13%. The cheapest food item here is the 5-piece nuggets at $4.59 and the cheapest drink is a small sweet tea at $2.59 — so a drink on its own clears the rebate and nothing else does. At Tim Hortons roughly three quarters of the menu sits under the line; here it is one category. The rule is worked through in the six-doughnut tax guide.

The menu-price layer, which Chick-fil-A does not fix nationally. The source behind this page describes its own figures as indicative rather than a fixed national price list, and Chick-fil-A's ordering system shows exact pricing only after you pick a restaurant — which is the company telling you the number moves with the address. What moves it is rent, wages and local competition rather than tax. The only measured example of that spread on this site is at Kelsey's, where one item runs $20.99 in Ottawa and $23.99 in Niagara Falls, 14.3% apart inside one province with no tax difference at all. Provinces outside the HST group tax restaurant food differently again, and I have not verified their current treatment item by item, so the 5% column is the floor.

Delivery markup: counter price against app price

I have no verified Chick-fil-A delivery prices and will not publish a markup I have not measured. The two Canadian markups that have been measured are a flat 20.0% at Kelsey's and a flat $1.40 per item at Swiss Chalet. Applied to Chick-fil-A's real counter prices:

Delivery markup: counter price against app price
ItemCounterUnder a 20% markupUnder a flat $1.40What $1.40 is, as a percentage
Nuggets, 5 pieces$4.59$5.51$5.9930.5%
Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich$7.19$8.63$8.5919.5%
Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal$12.29$14.75$13.6911.4%
30-piece Nuggets Meal$28.99$34.79$30.394.8%

The columns cross almost exactly at the Chick-fil-A Sandwich, $7.19, where the two models are within four cents of each other. Below it a flat surcharge is worse; above it a percentage is.

The per-nugget arithmetic makes this concrete. At the counter the 12-piece and the 30-piece both work out to $0.83 a nugget, so the bucket buys no rate advantage. Under a flat $1.40 surcharge that changes: the 12-piece goes to $0.95 a nugget and the 30-piece to $0.88, so delivery is the one situation in which the 30-piece box is the better rate — not because Chick-fil-A discounted it, but because a fixed fee spreads further over more food.

The restaurant sets the in-app price, not the platform, so SkipTheDishes, Uber Eats and DoorDash listings for the same restaurant usually start from the same marked-up list and diverge in the fee stack instead. I have not matched Chick-fil-A prices across the three and will not name a cheapest one. The cross-chain comparison is in the delivery app markup guide.

Hours: when Chick-fil-A Canada is open

I pulled these from Chick-fil-A Canada's own hours-of-operation page. Most Canadian locations run Monday to Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, every location is closed. That's not a regional quirk or a franchise decision. It's a standing company policy that applies across the chain.

A few things to know before you drive over. Some restaurants stay open later, often until 10:00 p.m. Mall locations tend to follow the shopping centre's own hours rather than the standalone schedule above. Chick-fil-A Canada also closes on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Because the earliest a Canadian location opens is 10:30 a.m., there is no morning service and no separate breakfast lineup: the menu priced above is the only menu, and it is already lunch when the doors open. The source doesn't give a single national opening time guaranteed at every address, so the honest move is to check the specific restaurant on the Chick-fil-A Canada locations page or app before you plan a trip.

One more number worth knowing before you order: none of the prices on this page include tax. Ontario adds 13% HST at the register, Alberta adds 5% GST only, and British Columbia layers GST plus PST on top. The same $12.29 meal ends up costing a different final total depending which province you're standing in, so treat every figure here as the pre-tax menu number, not what actually leaves your card.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest thing on the Chick-fil-A menu in Canada?

The 5-piece nugget order at $4.59 is the cheapest food item on the whole menu. Add a small sweet tea at $2.59 and a food-and-drink order comes to $7.18.

How much does a Chick-fil-A meal cost in Canada?

Meals start at $12.29, a tie between the Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal and the 8-count Nuggets Meal, and run to $28.99 for the 30-piece Nuggets Meal.

Do Chick-fil-A meal combos cost more than ordering items separately?

Usually by about $2.00 to $2.50 compared to an entrée plus a small drink, since the meal price also folds in fries and typically a larger drink. Against the plain entrée price alone, the meal step-up runs closer to $5.00 across most items on the menu.

How much is it to add cheese at Chick-fil-A Canada?

A flat $0.50, on every sandwich that offers it, and the same $0.50 whether you pick Monterey Jack, jalapeno or natural cheddar.

Which nugget size is the best value?

The 12-piece at $9.99, which works out to $0.83 a nugget. The 30-piece matches that rate exactly at $0.83 and does not beat it, so ordering 30 pieces buys more nuggets but no better price per nugget.

Does Chick-fil-A serve breakfast in Canada?

No. Canadian restaurants open at 10:30 a.m. and serve the lunch and dinner menu priced above, so the biscuits, Chick-n-Minis and breakfast burritos on the US breakfast menu aren't stocked north of the border.

Is Chick-fil-A closed on Sundays in Canada?

Yes, every location, every Sunday, as a company wide policy that isn't left up to individual franchise operators.

Are Chick-fil-A Canada prices the same at every location?

Not necessarily. The Canadian menu guide behind this page describes its own figures as indicative and compiled rather than a single fixed national price list, and Chick-fil-A's ordering system shows exact pricing only after you pick a specific restaurant.

Methodology

Every price on this page comes from a Canadian Chick-fil-A menu guide compiled from public listings, not from Chick-fil-A's live per-location ordering system. That source describes its own numbers as indicative CAD prices before tax, not guaranteed at every restaurant, and it doesn't say which specific store or which ordering channel, counter, kiosk or app, its figures were pulled from. Treat every dollar amount here as a starting point to confirm locally, especially the meal price ranges, which the source itself lists as spans rather than single figures. I didn't visit a Canadian Chick-fil-A location to verify these prices at the counter for this page. The source carries no calorie or nutrition data for the Canadian menu, so this page prices items only and publishes no nutrition figures at all rather than borrowing US ones.
